Bangladesh has slipped two places in the latest global passport ranking, now standing at 95th position, according to the Henley Passport Index.

The updated index shows that Bangladeshi passport holders can now travel to 36 countries without requiring a prior visa, down from earlier expectations as global rankings shift.

The ranking is based on data published by Henley & Partners, which tracks global mobility and visa-free access.

Countries offering visa-free or simplified entry for Bangladeshi citizens include Barbados, Bhutan, British Virgin Islands, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Comoros, Cook Islands, Djibouti, Dominica, Fiji, Grenada, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Madagascar, Maldives, Micronesia and Montserrat.

Other destinations include Nepal, Niue, Rwanda, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Bahamas, Gambia, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Some of these countries offer visa-on-arrival, while others require e-visas.

The index shows Singapore retains its position as the world’s strongest passport. Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates share second place.

Sweden ranks third, while a group of European countries—including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Switzerland—share fourth place. Austria, Greece, Malta and Portugal are placed fifth, while Hungary, Malaysia, Poland and the United Kingdom share sixth position.
