Leaders and activists of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League brought out a procession in Kishoreganj on Friday, June 26, protesting the ban on Awami League and demanding the release of arrested leaders and activists.

The march began around 8:00 am from the Rathkhala area of the district town under the banner of the district committee. It later paraded through various streets before ending in the Batrish area.

Many of the protesters were seen carrying oars and sticks. They chanted slogans demanding the withdrawal of the Awami League ban and the release of detained leaders and activists.

Sources said many of those who joined the march are supporters of Rasel Ahmed Tuhin, son of former president Abdul Hamid. Slogans in his name were also heard.

Several leaders and activists, including district Chhatra League secretary council members Tanim Islam and Ratan Mia, participated.

Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Bhuiya said they learned about the procession through Facebook. The matter is being investigated, and legal action will be taken against those involved.
