Banned Jubo League-Chhatra League hold rally in Chattogram, 14 held


Police have arrested 14 activists of the banned Jubo League and Chhatra League for holding a rally in Chattogram city's Muradpur area. They were produced before the Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Saturday. Cases have been filed against them under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The arrestees are: Md Kamrul Hasan, Humayun Kabir, Md Imran Hossain, Nazmus Salehin Naim, Emran Hossain, Tanim Hasan, Mehedi Hasan Shuvro, Farhad Ullah, Md Arafat, Md Ifat Rahman, Md Parvez, Md Haider, Nayan Hossain Emon and Md Abdullah Arman.

Pahartali Police Station OC Mozammel Haque said they conducted a drive following a rally held on the paved road at Railgate No. 1 in Muradpur under Pahartali Model Police Station on August 28 afternoon. Fourteen active members of the banned Awami League-affiliated organisations were arrested. Cases have been filed against them, and they have been sent to jail through the court.
