Barishal Nursing College students demand removal of 3 teachers, stage sit-in
Barishal Nursing College students have launched a two-phase protest demanding the immediate removal of three teachers allegedly involved in attacks against students during a previous demonstration.
On Wednesday morning, around 10:30 AM, students gathered in front of the college’s administrative building, boycotted classes and exams, and began a sit-in protest. Holding placards and chanting slogans, the students accused the college authorities of bringing in outsiders to attack them on May 6, with the alleged support of three teachers.
The students have suspended classes, clinical practice, and lab sessions until their demands are met. They have also warned that the protest will continue indefinitely if the teachers are not removed or transferred.
Expressing frustration over the administration’s silence, the students wore black eye masks and black badges during the protest to symbolize their dissent.
The college administration has yet to respond to the students’ demands.
