Barrister Nazia Kabir elected new secretary general of ASK

Barrister Nazia Kabir, a Supreme Court lawyer, has been elected as the new secretary general of the executive committee of Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK), a human rights and legal aid organisation. Barrister Helal Uddin Chowdhury has been elected as the new treasurer.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by executive committee president Advocate Z I Khan Panna on Friday, May 22.

The meeting was also attended by executive committee members including retired Justice Nizamul Haque Nasim, ASK Executive Director Advocate Tahmina Rahman, and Mabroque Mohammad.

The newly elected secretary general and treasurer were welcomed at the meeting. It was also expressed that under their leadership, ASK's activities in human rights protection, establishing justice, and legal aid will be further strengthened.
