Baset, Anwar elected president, secy of DSCC Market Federation

A meeting was held on Saturday (November 2) to reorganize the executive committee of the Dhaka South City Corporation Market Federation, chaired by former vice president Lion Miah Mohammad Anwar Hossain, with the presence of presidents and general secretaries from 53 out of 86 markets under the Dhaka South City Corporation.

The meeting was attended by Mamun Ahmed, advisor of Sundarban Square Super Market and former councilor of Dhaka South City Corporation Mohammad Afzal Hossain, former director of FBCCI and president of Ahsan Monzil Super Market; and Mohammad Mojammel Haque, president of Bangabazar Complex.

During the meeting, 14 speakers provided their opinions on the reorganization of the committee. It was unanimously decided to form a 27-member executive committee for a two-year term, electing Abdul Baset, a valiant freedom fighter, as president, Mohammad Anwar Hossain Tutul as general secretary, and Mohammad Abdur Rob as organizational secretary.
