It is said in the remand application that the unknown accused in collusion with each other killed the complainant’s husband Altaf Hossain and left the body and fled. To uncover the real mystery of the killing, recover the weapons used in the incident and identify those involved it is necessary to take the accused into police custody and interrogate them.

The lawyers of the accused side applied for cancellation of the remand. On the other hand the state side opposed it. After hearing both sides the court granted remand of the accused for various periods.

Earlier on September 7 the court sent the main accused of the case Johurul to five days’ remand.

According to the allegation of the case, an argument started over parking an autorickshaw of a person in front of Abul Kalam Azad’s auto garage at Bardebi Pashchimpara of Savar around 7:30pm on September 5. While trying to stop the situation police member Altaf Hossain faced the anger of the accused.

To save his life he took shelter in his son’s business establishment ‘Grand Fashion’. Later around 8:10pm the accused launched an attack there with local weapons.

The allegation further said the attackers randomly beat Altaf Hossain with rods, pipes, hammers and sticks and seriously injured him. When his son Ariful Islam came forward to protect him he was also injured by hacking with sharp weapons.

At that time vandalism was carried out in the business establishment causing damage of about Tk 5 lakh and there is also the allegation of taking away Tk 2 lakh 20 thousand from the cash box.

Later the seriously injured Altaf Hossain and his son were rescued and taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. There doctors declared Altaf Hossain dead. His son Ariful Islam was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.

Over this incident the wife of the deceased Altaf Hossain, Shiuli Parvin, filed a murder case with Savar police station as the complainant. Fifteen persons have been named as accused in the FIR of the case.
