Belgian Queen and former British PM meet with Chief Adviser

Interim Government’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has arrived in New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. On Monday (September 22), during an event at the UN headquarters, he met with Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

At the same event, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown also held a meeting with Professor Yunus.

Earlier on Monday at 3pm local time, the Chief Adviser and his entourage landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Accompanying him on the trip are six advisers of the Interim Government along with leaders from the BNP, Jamaat, and NCP.

Meanwhile, upon his arrival in New York, the Chief Adviser met with the family members of Didarul Islam, a Bangladeshi-origin police officer who was killed on duty. He spoke with them and took photographs together.
