BGB detains 10, including women and children, for alleged illegal border crossing in Darshana

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested 10 people, including women and children, on charges of infiltration at Darshana border in Chuadanga.

Members of the BGB's Baradi camp arrested them while they were illegally entering Bangladesh territory while on duty in the border area. Among the detainees are 2 men, 3 women and 5 children around 5am on Sunday (May 31).

Chuadanga-6 BGB Director Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan said that the identity verification and interrogation of the detainees is underway. After the completion of the primary legal process, they will be handed over to Darshana Police Station and the process of filing a case under the existing law on the charge of illegal infiltration is also underway.

He also said that BGB patrols and operations have been strengthened to prevent infiltration and smuggling at the border and this process will continue.
