The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) made another attempt to push a woman into Bangladesh, this time by boat along the Rokonpur border in Chapainawabganj, but was forced to turn back after resistance from Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

The incident occurred late on Monday night, June 15, through the side of border pillar 225/3-R in the area under the Rokonpur BOP of the Naogaon 16 BGB Battalion.

It is learnt that members of the RK Wada camp of India's 88 BSF Battalion attempted to push the woman into Bangladesh in a boat with the help of a civilian boatman.

Confirming the matter, Naogaon 16 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Islam Masum said the BSF's attempt was foiled due to the prompt action of the BGB patrol team. Facing resistance, the woman remained on the Indian side of the border's zero line. The border situation is currently being monitored closely.

Earlier, on June 13, the BSF had attempted to push 15 people through the same border, but the attempt failed due to the BGB's firm stance.
