The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 20 Bangladeshis—including women and children—after being pushed-in by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) through the Shibganj border early Wednesday morning (June 18).
The incident took place around 4:45am near border pillar 4/5-1S under Masudpur Border Outpost (BOP), confirmed Lieutenant Colonel Fahad Mahmud Rinku, commander of the 53 BGB Battalion.
Among the detained are three men, seven women, and ten children. The group, reportedly from Kurigram district, was apprehended amid heavy rain and adverse weather conditions.
Border authorities from both countries are in communication regarding the incident.
