BGB foils push-in of 11 people through Chuadanga border
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has foiled an alleged attempt by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) to push in 11 Bangla-speaking individuals through the Darshana border in Chuadanga.
The incident took place around 4:00am near Main Pillar 77 adjacent to the Darshana international check post in Jayanagar border area early Sunday (June 14).
According to BGB and local sources, BSF personnel had gathered the 11 individuals on the Indian side of the border and were preparing to push them into Bangladesh. Upon receiving information, BGB members swiftly took up defensive positions along the border, with local residents also joining them in support. The individuals were later removed from the zero line area by BSF personnel.
Confirming the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan, commanding officer of BGB-6 Battalion, said an attempt was made by BSF to push the 11 individuals into Bangladesh, which was successfully prevented.
He added that the situation was brought under control and the individuals were subsequently taken away from the border area.
