BGB member killed in motorcycle accident
A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a tree while patrolling the Putkhali border at Benapole in Jashore.
Another BGB member was injured in the incident.
The accident occurred on Tuesday (March 11) night in the Ahmed Bridge area, approximately 800 yards from the Masjid Bari post on the Baropota Putkhali road, said Khulna 21-BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Khurshid Anwar.
The deceased BGB soldier has been identified as Mozammel Hossain (28). The injured Havildar Md Delwar Hossain (38) has been admitted to Jashore Sadar Hospital.
Subedar Munshi Salimullah, Company Commander of Putkhali Camp, said that both of them were on duty at Putkhali BOP in Benapole of Khulna-21 BGB Battalion.
Khulna 21-BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Khurshid Anwar said, “Delwar Hossain and Mozammel Hossain were going to Baropota Bazar on a motorcycle to seize drugs on a secret information. On the way, they lost control of the motorcycle and hit a tree and fell on the side of the road. At that time, the BGB members suffered serious injuries to the head and various parts of the body. They were rescued from the scene and taken to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared Mozammel dead."
