Bhutan Prime Minister (PM) Shering Tobgay has congratulated Tarique Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on their decisive win in the 13th National Parliamentary Election. In a message on Saturday (February 14), Tobgay said, “Warm congratulations to Mr. Tarique Rahman and the BNP on their victory in Bangladesh’s national elections.” He expressed interest in working closely with the new leadership to further strengthen the longstanding friendship between Bhutan and Bangladesh. Tobgay also noted that the overwhelming public support in the election reflects the people’s confidence in Tarique Rahman’s leadership and expressed hope that the victory will usher in a new chapter of peace and progress in Bangladesh. &nbsp;

সদ্য সমাপ্ত ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে নিরঙ্কুশ জয়ের জন্য বাংলাদেশ জাতীয়তাবাদী দলের (বিএনপি) চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানকে অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন ভুটানের প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেরিং তোবগে। শনিবার (১৪ ফেব্রুয়ারী) এক বার্তায় ভুটানের প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় নির্বাচনে বিজয়ী হওয়ায় জনাব তারেক রহমান ও বিএনপিকে আমার পক্ষ থেকে উষ্ণ অভিনন্দন।’ দুই দেশের মধ্যে বিদ্যমান দীর্ঘদিনের বন্ধুত্ব আরও সুদৃঢ় করতে নতুন নেতৃত্বের সঙ্গে নিবিড়ভাবে কাজ করার আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেন তিনি। শেরিং তোবগে আরও বলেন, নির্বাচনে বিপুল জনসমর্থন তারেক রহমানের নেতৃত্বের ওপর বাংলাদেশের জনগণের আস্থার প্রতিফলন। এই বিজয় দেশটিতে শান্তি ও অগ্রগতির এক নতুন অধ্যায়ের সূচনা করবে বলেও তিনি আশা প্রকাশ করেন।
