Bhutan’s Prime Minister arrives in Dhaka

Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has arrived in Dhaka on a three-day official visit.


He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 8:15am on Saturday (November 22).


At a press briefing on Thursday, Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam said that after receiving a guard of honour at the airport, the Bhutanese Prime Minister would pay tribute to the martyrs of Bangladesh’s Liberation War at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar.


He added that on the same day, the Prime Minister will hold a one-to-one meeting with the Chief Adviser. Following this, a bilateral meeting between the delegations of the two countries will take place.


The discussions are expected to cover various areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, connectivity, education, agriculture, health, energy and power, telecommunications, tourism, culture, youth and sports, and industry.
