A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight bound for Chattogram was forced to return to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport shortly after takeoff on Monday due to a mechanical fault.

Flight BG 615 departed Dhaka at 2:34 PM but landed back at 2:55 PM after the pilot noticed a rise in cabin temperature. The aircraft, a Dash-8 model, flew for just 20 minutes before the decision to return was made for passenger safety.

Biman officials said arrangements are underway to accommodate the affected passengers on subsequent flights.

This follows the cancellation of another Biman flight, BG 356 from Rome to Dhaka, on Sunday evening. The flight was scheduled to depart Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport at 7:20 PM local time but was grounded due to technical problems.
