A BNP activist was hacked and injured in Rajshahi. BNP leaders and activists alleged that Jamaat activists carried out the attack. The incident came to light on Wednesday afternoon. The injured man was identified as Md Biraj, son of Md Aminullah, a resident of Ramchandrapur village in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi. Sources at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital police outpost said preliminary information suggested that Biraj had been injured in a hacking attack. He is currently undergoing treatment at ward number 31 of the hospital. No written complaint has been filed in connection with the incident so far. Police said the matter would be investigated and necessary action taken if a complaint is received.

রাজশাহীতে বিএনপির এক কর্মীকে কুপিয়ে জখম করা হয়েছে। বিএনপির নেতাকর্মীদের দাবি জামায়াতের কর্মীরা তাকে কুপিয়ে জখম করে। বুধবার দুপুরে এ তথ্য জানা যায়। আহত ব্যক্তির নাম মো. বিরাজ। তিনি রাজশাহীর চারঘাট উপজেলার রামচন্দ্রপুর গ্রামের (আড়ানী ব্রিজের পশ্চিমে) বাসিন্দা মো. আমিনুল্লাহর ছেলে। রাজশাহী মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের পুলিশ বক্স সূত্রে জানা গেছে, বিরাজকে কুপিয়ে আহত করা হয়েছে বলে প্রাথমিকভাবে তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে। বর্তমানে তিনি হাসপাতালের ৩১ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডে চিকিৎসাধীন রয়েছেন। তবে এ ঘটনায় এখনো কোনো লিখিত অভিযোগ দায়ের করা হয়নি। পুলিশ বলছে, অভিযোগ পেলে বিষয়টি তদন্ত করে প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
