Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), stated that the party does not support banning of any political party. He commented that there are attempts to create anarchy by unnecessarily raising issues in the country. He made these remarks on Saturday (November 2) during a memorial meeting for Sabih Uddin Ahmed, a former adviser to the BNP chairperson, held in Mohakhali, Dhaka. Fakhrul said that various conspiracies are being orchestrated against Bangladesh and emphasized that the people of the country must remain vigilant to counter these conspiracies. He also noted that the late Sabih Uddin Ahmed dedicated his life to the country, its people, and democracy, expressing that he would have been very happy to witness a fascism-free Bangladesh.

বিএনপির মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর বলেছেন, তাদের দল কোনো রাজনৈতিক দলকে নিষিদ্ধ করাকে সমর্থন করে না। দেশে অহেতুক ইস্যু তুলে অরাজকতা সৃষ্টির চেষ্টা চলছে বলেও মন্তব্য করেন তিনি। শনিবার (২ নভেম্বর) দুপুরে ঢাকার মহাখালীতে বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের সাবেক উপদেষ্টা সাবিহ উদ্দিন আহমেদের স্মরণসভায় বাংলাদেশের বিরুদ্ধে নানা ষড়যন্ত্র করা হচ্ছে বলেও অভিযোগ করেন মির্জা ফখরুল। তিনি বলেন, এসব ষড়যন্ত্র মোকাবেলায় দেশের জনগণকে সজাগ থাকতে হবে। বিএনপির মহাসচিব বলেন, মরহুম সাবিহ উদ্দিন আহমেদ দেশ, জনগণ এবং গণতন্ত্রের জন্য তার জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছিলেন। আজকের ফ্যাঁসিবাদমুক্ত বাংলাদেশ দেখে যেতে পারলে খুব খুশি হতেন তিনি।
