BNP has announced a two-day leaflet distribution and mass contact programme after the 12th national parliamentary elections.

The leaflet distribution and mass contact programme will be held on Tuesday (January 9) and Wednesday (January 10).

The party’s Standing Committee Member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan made the announcement at a press conference at the party chairperson’s Gulshan office in the capital on Monday (January 8).

Moin Khan said, "The dummy election of January 7 must be canceled immediately. Sheikh Hasina must resign. We will have mass contact, leaflets distribution programme on Tuesday and Wednesday."

He further said, “Everybody has rejected the government's election with dummy candidates, dummy voters and dummy observers. Dummy voters were placed in empty polling stations. Awami League has suffered a moral defeat in the election. It has once again proved that free and fair elections cannot be held under a one-party government.”

The member of the BNP Standing Committee said, "The government has taken away the confidence of the people in the electoral system by consistently taking away the right to vote. By boycotting the vote people have proved that the government and their elections are fake. After this election, the current government can be called 'of the dummy, by the dummy, for the dummy'."

Dr. Moin Khan said, "EC has tried unsuccessfully to prove its neutrality by stopping the election in 4-5 centers out of 40,000 centers after the election irregularities. It has become ridiculous. It has been proved that fair elections are not possible under a spineless Election Commission.”

BNP Standing Committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Begum Selima Rahman were also present at the press conference.
