BNP candidate shot during campaign

BNP candidate Ershad Ullah, nominated for Chattogram-8 (Boalkhali-Chandgaon-Panchlaish-Bayezid partial), was shot in the leg during a campaign event in Pachlaish of Chattogram.

The incident took place at Hamjarbagh area under Panchlaish Police Station on Wednesday evening (November 5).

He was immediately taken to Evercare Hospital for treatment after the incident.

Ershad Ullah was declared as BNP’s candidate on Monday, following the party’s announcement for four constituencies in Chattogram city.

According to the BNP Media Cell, the attack occurred while Ershad Ullah was engaging with the public; assailants specifically targeted him.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police North Zone Deputy Commissioner Amirul Islam confirmed about the shooting and said police are en route to the scene to investigate.
