BNP expresses solidarity with Amjonota Party's Tarek
As a new political party, the Amjonota Party has not received registration from the Election Commission, and its general secretary Md. Tarek Rahman is on an indefinite hunger strike in front of the commission.
He has been on hunger strike in front of the EC building since Tuesday afternoon. Md. Tarek Rahman has announced that he will continue the strike until registration is granted.
This time, BNP Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stood by Md. Tarek Rahman.
Rizvi expressed solidarity with Tarek, who is on hunger strike demanding registration for the Amjonota Party. On Thursday afternoon, Md. Tarek Rahman thanked Rizvi live on his verified Facebook page.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, “Tarek has spoken for the country’s interest, taken a stand against aggression, and worked for the protection of Bangladesh’s sovereignty. He has lawfully formed a political party and applied for registration.”
He further said, Tarek has worked for independence and the cause of democracy. He also urged the Election Commission to register Tarek’s party.
