The International Crimes Tribunal will deliver its verdict on Monday in the case against three accused, including Sheikh Hasina, for war crimes committed during the July uprising. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has demanded transparency and a fair trial in this verdict.
On Sunday, November 16, in the evening, he made the demand on his verified Facebook page.
In the post, Mirza Fakhrul wrote, “Tomorrow, November 17, the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh is going to announce the verdict in the case against Sheikh Hasina, which includes five charges of crimes against humanity related to the deadly violence and repression in Dhaka last year. We demand full justice.”
Earlier in the afternoon, at an event in Dhaka, BNP Secretary General Alamgir said, “Tomorrow, Monday, certain quarters are planning to create anarchy in the country around the verdict of fascist Hasina’s genocide.”
