A BNP delegation is meeting with the Election Commission (EC) to discuss preparations for the 13th parliamentary election. The meeting began at 3:30 pm on Sunday (February 9) in the Election Commission's conference room in Agargaon. The meeting was attended by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin, Election Commissioners Abdur Rahmanel Masud, Begum Tahmida Ahmed, Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah, and EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed. The BNP delegation included Standing Committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Salahuddin Ahmed, and Selima Rahman. After a political change, a new five-member Election Commission was formed in November under the leadership of retired Secretary AMM Nasir Uddin. This is the first meeting with BNP since the new commission took office.

ত্রয়োদশ সংসদ নির্বাচনের প্রস্তুতি জানতে নির্বাচন কমিশনের (ইসি) সঙ্গে বৈঠকে বসেছে বিএনপির প্রতিনিধি দল। রবিবার (৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি) বিকেল সাড়ে ৩টায় আগারগাঁও নির্বাচন ভবনের সম্মেলন কক্ষে এ বৈঠক শুরু হয়েছে। বৈঠকে উপস্থিত রয়েছেন প্রধান নির্বাচন নির্বাচন কমিশনার এ এম এম নাসির উদ্দিন, নির্বাচন কমিশনার আব্দুর রহমানেল মাছউদ, বেগম তাহমিদা আহমদ, আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম সরকার, আবুল ফজল মো. সানাউল্লাহ এবং ইসি সচিব আখতার আহমেদ। বিএনপির প্রতিনিধি দলে আছেন স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য নজরুল ইসলাম খান, সালাহউদ্দিন আহমদ ও সেলিমা রহমান। রাজনৈতিক পটপরিবর্তনের পর গত নভেম্বরে অবসরপ্রাপ্ত সচিব এ এম এম নাসির উদ্দিনের নেতৃত্বে পাঁচ সদস্যের নতুন নির্বাচন কমিশন গঠন করা হয়। তাদের দায়িত্ব নেয়ার পর এটিই বিএনপির সঙ্গে প্রথম বৈঠক।
