BNP, Jamaat and NCP mourn Hadi's death
Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Mancha and frontline fighter of the July Movement, passed away while undergoing treatment in Singapore.
BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) have expressed deep grief over his death.
A condolence message published on BNP's verified Facebook page said, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. We are deeply saddened by the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Manch and independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency."
Jamaat-e-Islami also prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul in its condolence message, saying, "May Allah Almighty forgive him, have mercy on him and grant him the highest status in Jannatul Firdaus by giving him the dignity of martyrdom." Condolences were expressed to the bereaved family.
National Citizen Party (NCP) expressed its condolences in a press release on Thursday (December 18). The condolence message signed by the party's media cell secretary Mushfiqur Us Salehin said that the leaders and activists of the NCP at all levels are deeply saddened by the untimely death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha and member of the National Citizen Committee, independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency.
His death was confirmed through separate posts on Sharif Osman Hadi's verified Facebook page and the Inqilab Manch's Facebook page.
On December 12, he was shot from a moving motorcycle while he was going to participate in a public meeting in the capital's Bijoynagar area. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with a bullet wound to the head. After surgery, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka and then sent to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. He died there while undergoing treatment.
