BNP leader accused of grabbing job test papers from UNO room
Allegations have been raised against Haripur upazila BNP president Jamal Uddin and his associates of snatching recruitment exam papers for fourth-class employees of Medni Sagar Technical and BM College in Thakurgaon. The incident occurred at the Haripur Upazila Executive Officer's (UNO) office on Friday afternoon.
According to college sources, a written examination was held for the posts of ayah and cleaner at the institution. A total of eight candidates participated. Preparations were underway for viva after the written exam.
Medni Sagar Technical and BM College Principal Harunur Rashid said they were sitting in the UNO's room after the written exam. At that time, upazila BNP president Jamal Uddin and several of his associates went there and snatched all exam papers from the examiners. They plan to file a complaint at the police station to take legal action in this regard.
Haripur Upazila Executive Officer Rayhanul Islam said the college's written recruitment exam was held following proper rules, and viva began afterward. At that time, the BNP president and his associates came to the UNO office, created a mob, and snatched the exam papers from the examiners.
The UNO further informed that the process of taking legal action regarding the incident is underway, and preparations are being made to file a case.
Regarding the allegations, upazila BNP president Jamal Uddin claimed they did not take any papers. He alleged that since the institution is close to the Awami League, there were attempts to recruit party loyalists. When they went to discuss the matter, the UNO behaved badly with them. He further claimed the UNO is a Jamaat supporter and the allegations against them are false.
