BNP leader shot, hacked to death in Pabna

Adam Ali, 60, a BNP leader of Atgharia in Pabna, has been shot and hacked to death by miscreants. The deceased Adam Ali was a resident of Shatgacha village and president of BNP of Ward No 1 of Ekdant union.

The incident took place in the afternoon on Monday (September 7). Adam Ali was the son of Nurul Islam of Shatgacha village.

Police and locals said Adam Ali was returning home on a motorcycle with shopping from Ekdant hat around 3:30pm. When he reached Chandipasha area on the way, miscreants stopped his motorcycle. At that time he was first shot at. Later he was seriously injured by hacking with sharp weapons.

At one stage he died at the spot. Later the miscreants quickly fled the scene.

Md Nazmul Haque, officer-in-charge (OC) of Atgharia police station, said police went to the spot after getting the information and recovered the body. The reason for the killing and who were involved in it could not be known immediately. Police have started investigation into the incident.
