Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Uday Kusum Barua has been expelled for calling Chittagong University students “terrorists” following their clash with the locals. He was a member of the party’s National Executive Committee.

The expulsion was announced on Sunday (August 31) afternoon through a notice signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

According to the notice, Uday Kusum Barua has been expelled from all positions, including his role in the National Executive Committee, for engaging in anti-organizational activities, violating party instructions, and contributing to disorder. These actions were deemed contrary to the party’s constitution.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Uday Kusum made a Facebook post labeling CU students as “terrorists.” He has also been accused of inciting unrest through his remarks.
