BNP protests in Narayanganj, declares Nasiruddin Patwari 'unwelcome'

The metropolitan unit of BNP in Narayanganj has declared National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari 'undesirable' in the district. Party leaders said he will be resisted if he attempts to visit Narayanganj in the future.

The announcement was made during a protest rally and procession on Saturday (August 1) afternoon, organised to denounce recent remarks made by several NCP leaders about Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Addressing the rally, Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Fateh Mohammad Reza Ripon declared Nasiruddin Patwari undesirable in Narayanganj. He said if Patwari tries to enter the district, the metropolitan BNP will resist him.

He also made sharp criticism of Nasiruddin Patwari and several other NCP leaders, questioning their political roles.

The protest procession, organised by metropolitan BNP, started from Missionpara in the city, paraded through Chashara and the No. 2 Railgate area, and concluded with a rally back at Missionpara.

The rally was chaired by Narayanganj Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu. Other speakers included Joint Conveners Anwar Hossain Anu, Advocate Rafiqul Islam, Aowlad Hossain and Narayanganj Sadar Thana BNP President Masud Rana, among others.
