BNP satisfied with poll schedule: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the people are confident in the CEC's announcement that the right to vote will be implemented. He said that BNP is satisfied with the poll schedule.

He said this in a reaction after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election on Thursday (December 11).

He said that this election is a major event in the history of politics.

BNP expressed hope that the EC will conduct the vote in a neutral, free and acceptable manner. He also commented that new horizons will be opened in the country through this election.

The Election Commission announced the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election on Thursday (December 11). According to the announced schedule, voting will be held on February 12 (Thursday) next year. A referendum will also be held on the day of the national election.

According to the schedule, candidates will have to submit their nomination papers by December 29. The nomination papers will be scrutinized from December 30 to January 4. Candidates will be able to appeal until January 11. The appeal will be disposed of from January 12 to January 18.

The last day for withdrawal of candidacy is January 20. The symbol will be allotted the next day, January 21. The campaign will start from the next day. This campaign will continue till 7:30 am on February 10.
