BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday (August 19) said the party is still waiting for a clear election roadmap from the government, urging immediate reforms to ensure free and fair polls.

Speaking after paying tribute at the grave of party founder Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of the 45th founding anniversary of the Nationalist Volunteer Party, Rizvi called for the cancellation of polling centres he claimed were established for political purposes during what he described as a “fascist regime.”

Rizvi demanded that all polling centres be relocated to secure and neutral venues to ensure voter safety and accessibility. He also pressed the government to take necessary steps to allow voters to reach polling stations without obstruction and exercise their rights freely.

Additionally, he alleged that efforts were being made to block the Bangladesh Chhatra Dal from purchasing nomination papers for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections, describing it as part of a broader pattern of electoral interference. "This is not an isolated case — similar illegal tactics are being used across the country," he claimed.
