The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has filed a case against 24 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, several former Chief Election Commissioners (CECs), election officials, and top law enforcement officers, accusing them of vote rigging and irregularities in the 2014, 2018, and 2024 national elections.

The case was filed at 11:15am on Sunday (June 22), at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in Dhaka by Md Salahuddin Khan, a member of BNP’s National Executive Committee.

The accused include former CECs Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed, K.M. Nurul Huda, and Kazi Habibul Awal, along with former election commissioners Abdul Mubarak, Abu Hanif, Jabed Ali, Shah Newaz, Rafiqul Islam, Kabita Khanam, Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, Ahsan Habib, Alamgir Hossain, and Anisur Rahman.

Others named in the case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former IGPs Hasan Mahmud Khandaker, Benazir Ahmed, AKM Shahidul Haque, and Javed Patwary, as well as former intelligence chiefs from the NSI, DGFI, and SB. The complaint also mentions the then Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner and Election Secretary, although some names remain unspecified.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station OC Md Emaul Haque confirmed receiving the complaint, stating that the plaintiff has alleged abuse of power by the Election Commission and law enforcement agencies to manipulate election outcomes.

Salahuddin Khan said the case follows an earlier complaint submitted to the Election Commission in 2018 by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, which was not acted upon. He claimed that the elections were administered by force, with results predetermined, and submitted related evidence to the police.
