BNP threatens to declare Sarwar Tushar, Sarjis Alam unwelcome in Pabna
Pabna district BNP has threatened to declare NCP leaders Sarwar Tushar and Sarjis Alam unwelcome in Pabna if they do not withdraw their remarks about MP Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas and apologise publicly.
The warning came at a press conference at Pabna Press Club on Monday, July 13.
District BNP Member Secretary Advocate Maksudur Rahman Masud Khondaker said Sarjis Alam and Sarwar Tushar made false and baseless remarks about MP Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas during their visit to Pabna on July 9, which violate political etiquette and human values.
He demanded that they withdraw the remarks and apologise immediately, otherwise the people of Pabna will declare them unwelcome in any public gathering in the district.
The BNP leader also alleged that Sarwar Tushar and Sarjis Alam's statements match the language and rhetoric of Jamaat-e-Islami.
On July 10, Sarwar Tushar had said that MP Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas was sheltering Awami League leaders accused of firing on students in Pabna on August 4, 2024.
