BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that if his party comes to power, it will ensure the people's right to vote and freedom of expression.

He made the remarks while virtually joining a rally organized by Jubo Dal (BNP’s youth wing) from London on Monday (August 4).

Tarique Rahman stated that the people of Bangladesh want change, and BNP is working in line with the people’s aspirations. “The politics of the future is politics for public development. BNP will guarantee voting rights and freedom of speech. The people are BNP’s only strength,” he said.

Highlighting BNP’s commitment to implementing skills-based education, he said the party would work to improve the quality of life for the people. “The BNP government will promote small and cottage industries in the global market. Once in power, we will create employment opportunities by training the working-age population. We’ll even provide language training to help them secure jobs abroad.”

Tarique Rahman further pledged that if given the opportunity to govern, BNP would establish a nationwide healthcare system, where the majority of workers would be women. He also said the party would revive Shaheed Ziaur Rahman’s canal excavation program if it forms the government.

Praising the role of Jubo Dal in the anti-fascist movement, he said, “It’s not just past achievements that matter—what truly defines the future is the trust of the people. I urge members of Jubo Dal to put their faith in the people and honor that trust. Because true leadership lies in earning public confidence, and leadership without the people’s support is not possible.”
