BNP to form alliance with all anti-fascist parties: Salahuddin
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) aims to form a broad alliance of all parties opposed to fascism ahead of the upcoming national election, said permanent committee member Salahuddin Ahmed. The comment came on Monday, October 27, as he addressed journalists after paying homage at the tomb of Ziaur Rahman during the 47th founding anniversary of the party’s youth wing.
Salahuddin said: “BNP wants to keep anti-fascist unity intact, and send a clear message that no one should go down a path of division.”
He added that, in preparation for the forthcoming election, the party high command is meeting with its candidates across the country. “These meetings are being held to maintain unity within the party and with our candidates,” he said.
Regarding the Bangladesh of the future, he remarked that it will be youth-driven, emphasising that the BNP intends to develop programmes to harness the ideas of the young generation for nation-building.
