BNP vowed to build inclusive, safe Bangladesh: Tarique Rahman
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has vowed to build an inclusive and secure Bangladesh, ensuring the rights of all ethnic groups.
He made the commitment while virtually joining a conference of representatives from 34 small ethnic communities across 12 districts, including Mymensingh, on Saturday (August 30).
Tarique said BNP recognizes that Bangladesh belongs not only to Bengalis but also to all legally residing ethnic groups, and the party has ensured the participation of small ethnic communities in all its committees.
He added that BNP would work to make government jobs more accessible to these groups and has presented a 31-point development plan for both the hills and plains.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the party aims to establish equal rights for all citizens following the “tyrannical” rule of the current government.
He warned of ongoing conspiracies to sabotage upcoming elections and the rise of extremism, calling for unity to protect the nation.
The party highlighted February as the month for the next national elections and urged small ethnic groups to cooperate in creating a safe and equitable Bangladesh.
