BNP withdraws expulsion order against 7 leaders

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has withdrawn the expulsion order against seven of its leaders and reinstated their primary memberships.

The announcement came through a press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday, October 24.

Those reinstated include Fakhruddin Ahmed Bacchu, former member of the BNP National Executive Committee and ex-convener of Bhaluka Upazila BNP, Mymensingh South; Rakibul Uddin Sarkar Pappu, former senior joint convener of Gazipur Metropolitan BNP; Nurul Amin, former joint convener of Chattogram North District BNP; Ruhul Amin Dulal, former convener of Mathbaria Upazila BNP, Pirojpur; Tahmid Faisal Chowdhury Comet, former president of Jaldhaka Upazila BNP, Nilphamari; Mokarram Hossain Sujon, former member of Rangpur District BNP; and Md Ali Sarkar, another former member of the same district.

According to party sources, the leaders had previously been expelled for alleged violations of organisational discipline. Following their appeals and a subsequent review, the party decided to lift the expulsion orders and restore their primary memberships.
