BNP-Jamaat 2-day of 4th countrywide blockade underway
The second day of the countrywide 48-hour blockade, sponsored by BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties, is underway on Monday.
The BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties called the countrywide blockade demanding resignation of the government and general elections under a non-party interim one.
The number of vehicles on the street today in Dhaka is more compared to the three previous blockades.
Office-goers, students and other commuters were seen going to their destinations.
Unidentified miscreants set two buses on fire in the capital’s Tejgaon and Narayanganj's Adamjee EPZ areas on Sunday night.
Besides, arsonists in Dhaka set seven buses on fire in Jatrabari, Gulistan, Gabtoli, near Notre Dame College, Rupnagar, Sutrapur and Mirpur areas to create panic among people between 8 pm on Saturday and 6 am on Sunday, before the blockade started.
Earlier, the BNP, Jamaat enforced two rounds of 48-hour nationwide blockade from November 5 to 9 with a break on November 7 and a three-day countrywide blockade from October 31.
