Boat symbol removed from Prisons dept logo
The Department of Prisons has undergone changes following the anti-discrimination movement. As part of this, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided on a new logo for the department.
The boat symbol has been removed from the changed logo.
This information was confirmed by Faisal Hasan, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Sunday (February 2).
The new logo sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs has replaced the boat symbol with a key symbol.
Earlier, Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Md. Motaher Hossain hinted at the change in the logo at a press conference held at the prison headquarters on December 4.
On that day, he said, "Keeping the prisoners safe, showing the path of light, the Prisons Department is working to develop all prisons in Bangladesh as correctional facilities." In the continuation of the efforts to reform the country's administrative structure following the anti-discrimination movement, several reforms and changes have been taken in the prison administration. Measures have been taken to ensure all kinds of facilities for prisoners, including bringing discipline among prison officials and employees, in accordance with the rules and regulations. Long-term plans have also been taken, such as increasing the amount of non-vegetarian food in the prisoners' menu, making prisons productive, and ensuring good medical care for prisoners and employees, such as building a central prison hospital and providing ambulances to each prison.
