Bodies of 7 Bangladeshi expatriates arrive home from Oman
The bodies of seven expatriates from Sandwip in Chattogram, who were killed in a road accident in Oman, have arrived home.
The bodies reached Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 8:15 pm on Saturday (18 October).
Sandwip Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mongchingnu Marma and Shah Amanat Airport spokesperson Engineer Ibrahim Khalil confirmed the matter.
The deceased were identified as Amin Majhi, 50; Md Shahabuddin, 28; Md Bablu, 28; Md Rocky, 27; Md Arju, 26; Md Jewel, 28; and Mosharaf Hossain Rony, 26. All of them were expatriate fishermen working in Oman.
Meanwhile, the upazila administration has arranged a funeral prayer for the seven expatriates at 9:15 am on Sunday at the Purba Sandwip High School field near Enam Nahar Mor.
Earlier, on 8 October, the seven expatriates died when their vehicle collided head-on with another car in the Sidra area of Dhukum province, Oman.
