Bodies of two friends found hanging in same village

Police have recovered the hanging bodies of two friends from two separate houses in the same village in Palash upazila, Narsingdi. The incident occurred around 11:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18, in the Madhya Bagpara area of Ghorashal municipality.

The deceased are Mussanna Galib Mim, 28, son of Amirul Islam from Madhya Bagpara, and Sheikh Sharif, 27, son of Bashir Uddin from Bagpara. They were close friends.

According to local sources, Mim lived alone in his house while his parents resided elsewhere. Around 8:30 pm on Tuesday, a foul smell emanated from his house, prompting locals to inform the police. Police later broke down the door and recovered his body hanging from a beam inside the room. Due to decomposition of the body, it is believed that he died several days ago.

On the other hand, police went to Sharif's house and broke down the door of his room to recover his body hanging from a ceiling fan. His ailing mother was in the same house but reportedly did not notice anything.

Police said preliminary investigations suggest Sharif's death occurred within the last 24 hours. While both incidents are suspected to be suicides, investigations are ongoing to determine the actual causes.

Palash Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahed Al Mamun said the deceased were friends. Police are working to unravel the mystery behind the incidents.
