Police have recovered the bodies of two unidentified women from the premises of Dhaka Medical College (Dhaka Medical) Hospital in the capital.

The victims, believed to be between 55 and 60 years old, had reportedly been living as homeless individuals on the hospital grounds.

The women were found unconscious near the hospital's emergency department around 10:00am on Monday (July 27). They were rushed to the emergency unit, where doctors declared them dead.

Mohammad Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical Hospital Police Camp, said the two women had been staying on the hospital premises for a long time. While initial findings suggest they may have died due to illness, the exact cause of death will be determined after autopsies.

The bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.

Police said the identities of the two women remain unknown, and an investigation is underway to establish both their identities and the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
