Bodies of young men and women recovered from Marine Drive

Police have recovered the bodies of a young man and a young woman from the sea beach adjacent to Marine Drive Road in Teknaf Sadar Union, Cox's Bazar. Locals saw the two bodies floating in the beach area around 9am between the Uttar Lambari and Mitapani Chhara boat docks and informed the police on Wednesday, February 18.

Upon receiving the information, the police of Teknaf Model Police Station reached the spot, recovered the two bodies and took them to the police station.

Teknaf Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam said that initially it is believed that the two deceased are Rohingyas. An autopsy report is being prepared on the bodies and work is underway to identify them and uncover the cause of death.

Police said that further legal proceedings in this incident are underway.
