Body of Chhatra Dal leader recovered from Fatikchhari diagnostic centre

Police on Sunday recovered the body of a local student leader, from a room at a diagnostic centre in Fatikchhari Upazila, while another man was found unconscious and taken to hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Rashedul Anwar Tipu, 28, served as senior joint general secretary of a college unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.

The incident took place at a diagnostic facility in Datmara Union, where Tipu worked.

According to locals, the room remained locked for an extended period, prompting suspicion. After cutting through a window grill, they entered and found both Tipu and Arman unconscious. Tipu was later declared dead at a local hospital, while Arman, 26, was admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

Atikur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhujpur Police Station, said, "The body has been sent for autopsy. Preliminary findings suggest excessive alcohol consumption may have been a factor, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report."
