Body of fish trader found with throat slit inside Natore home
Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a fish trader from his house in Singra upazila of Natore.
The deceased, Md. Rofiqul Islam, 45, was found dead in a room of his residence in Bishnupur village under Itali Union on Monday morning (May 4). He was the son of Keramat Ali and worked as a fry fish trader, police said.
According to police and local sources, Rofiqul had a domestic dispute with his wife and children over family matters on Sunday night. Following the argument, he reportedly went to sleep in a separate room out of anger.
In the morning, his wife Sheuli Begum went to call him but received no response. She later entered the room and found him lying on the floor with his throat slit and bloodied, prompting her to scream for help. Locals rushed to the scene and informed police.
On information, Singra Police Station officers recovered the body and sent it to Natore Sadar Hospital's morgue for autopsy.
Md. Rofiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station, said, "Police reached the scene immediately after being informed and recovered the body."
"Investigations are underway to determine whether it was a murder or another incident," he added.
