The deceased, Adnan Altaf, was 26 and hailed from Kashmir, India. He was a student in the 14th batch (2017–18 academic year) of Eastern Medical College in Burichang.
Surjit Barua, inspector and in-charge of the Debpur police outpost, said local residents spotted Adnan’s body floating in the pond at around 7am on Wednesday. Police recovered it after being alerted.
