Body of slain Bangladeshi student Limon to arrive home Monday

The body of Bangladeshistudent Jamil Ahmed Limon, who was killed in the United States, is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on Monday (May 4).

According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, all expenses related to repatriating the body will be borne by the government.

The development was confirmed by Press Minister Golam Mortoza.

Embassy sources said Limon’s first funeral prayer will be held Thursday at an Islamic center in the Tampa Bay Area, after which the process of sending the body to Bangladesh will begin.

The coffin is set to depart from Orlando at 8:50pm on Saturday (May 2) on an Emirates flight (EK-0220). Following a scheduled transit in Dubai, it will continue on another Emirates flight (EK-0582) and is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:40am on May 4.

After completion of formalities, the body will be handed over to his family.

Limon was a PhD student at the University of South Florida. He had been missing since April 16 along with Nahida S. Bristy. Eight days after their disappearance, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office confirmed the recovery of his body near the Howard Frankland Bridge last Friday.
