A Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft sustained minor damage after being struck by a luggage trolley at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday night (July 1).

The incident took place shortly after 7:00pm that night, involved a Boeing 737-800 model, which suffered external damage when the trolley collided with it on the airport tarmac.

However, no passengers were on board the aircraft at the time of the incident, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Public Relations Department General Manager ABM Rowshan Kabir confirmed.

According to airport sources, Biman flight BG-389 from Bangkok landed around 6:00pm and was parked at its bay. After passenger disembarkation, a cage trolley was placed for unloading. A nearby Dash 8 aircraft, preparing for takeoff, generated strong airflow while turning, causing the trolley to tip over and hit the parked Boeing 737.

Rowshan Kabir stated, "The trolley was stationary and not in motion on its own. It was pushed by strong airflow from the adjacent aircraft and struck our aircraft. An engineering team has been dispatched to assess the extent of the damage."
