Voting for the 13th National Parliament by-election is underway in Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituency. However, there is hardly any voter presence at the polling stations. According to election office sources, only 7.023 percent votes were cast in the first two and a half hours till 10am in this election battle devoid of election atmosphere.

When I went to Thanthania Model Government Primary School, Sewajgari Government Primary School and Zilla School centers in the city, I saw that there was no long queue of voters there on Thursday morning (April 9). Voters are coming one by one and voting and leaving without any crowd. Not only the center, but the entire city also has no election atmosphere.

When I went to a restaurant in Khandar area of the city, I saw that there was a crowd of people there. However, none of them voted.

Many of them say that they are disappointed with the increase in the cost of living. They are not interested in voting. Let's see what happens in the end.

According to information received from the office of the Senior District Election Officer and Returning Officer, voting began at 7:30am and will continue until 4:30pm. According to information collected until 10am, 7.023 percent of votes have been cast so far. However, this figure does not include postal ballots.

The total number of voters in this constituency is 4 lakh 54 thousand 43 people and voting is going on in a total of 150 centers.

Three candidates are contesting in the election field. They are - District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha with the symbol of paddy sheaf, Amir of Bogra city branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Abidur Rahman Sohel and Al Amin Talukder of Bangladesh Development Party.

Regarding the overall situation, Senior District Election Officer and Returning Officer Fazlul Karim said that voting is going on in a peaceful atmosphere. It is expected that voter turnout will increase as the day progresses.
