Bogura glowing with Durga Puja spirit
Durga Puja is not just a religious festival; it is an emotion that touches the heart. The anticipation of an entire year culminates in this grand celebration.
The excitement of children, the sight of the deity, night-long gatherings, the interplay of light and shadow in the pandals, and people strolling through the city in new festive attire—all combine to make Bogura glow with the colors of this unique festival.
On Monday evening, on Saptami, Priyanti Purvasha Setu visited several mandaps across the city with her friends and family. Together, they shared the joy of Puja, admired the deity, clicked photographs, and captured every festive moment. She spoke to reporters at the Dalpatti Puja mandap in the Namazgar area.
“Puja is all about happiness and spending time with family and friends,” Purvasha said. “We wait for this time all year. It’s not just a religious event; it’s a time to share joy together.”
On Tuesday morning, during Ashtami, the Kalitala area of Gandagram village was abuzz with festive spirit. The colorful touch of Puja was visible throughout the village. At a nearby pandal in Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, the Kumari Puja ceremony was in full swing, drawing large crowds.
Speaking at the mandap, Setu Rani Madak said, “This Puja is more than a ritual; it reflects our culture. Every moment of the Kumari Puja is deeply connected to our roots.”
Parimal Das, president of the Bogura Puja Celebration Committee, stated that this year, Durga Puja is being celebrated in 686 pandals across the city. “So far, the festivities have proceeded peacefully,” he added.
