'Borsha Mangal Utsab 1433' inaugurated at Rabindra Sarobar with dance and music

The 'Borsha Mangal Utsab 1433' has been inaugurated by the Borsha Mangal Parishad with the aim of spreading Bangladesh's thousand-year-old culture, heritage and folk traditions among the new generation, while fostering love, commitment and pride for the country's indigenous culture.

The festival was inaugurated on Saturday (July 25) at 5pm at the open stage of Rabindra Sarobar in the capital's Dhanmondi, featuring dance and music performances.

The Borsha Mangal Parishad said one of the key objectives of the festival is to present Bangladesh's monsoon culture, heritage and folk lifestyle in an attractive manner to the younger generation. The festival will be held consistently to establish it as a universal, popular and national cultural event like Pahela Baishakh in the future.

The organisers said the initiative holds special significance amid the growing disconnect of the new generation from cultural practice and various forms of aggression on indigenous culture in the present times. They believe that the development of art, literature and culture plays a vital role in building a secular, humane and creative society, which inspired the festival.

The organisers said the festival would aesthetically showcase Bangladesh's monsoon traditions and culture. The programme will feature monsoon songs, poetry recitations, dance performances and various other cultural events. With participation from artists, poets, reciters, cultural personalities and culture enthusiasts from all walks of life, the organisers expect it to become a vibrant cultural gathering.
